Group therapy brings a small number of people together, usually between six and eight, under the guidance of a trained therapist, to work through difficulties with and alongside one another. Sessions typically run weekly, for ninety minutes, and the group itself becomes the space in which the work happens. Group therapy is not a lecture or a support circle taking turns to speak, but a living set of relationships that develop, session by session, over time.
